Amazing brothers honored as the Sports Illustrated SportsKids of the Year
I wanted to share with you the South’s best kept secret, Harrison Blackford. Not only do I get to call her a close friend, but I get to enjoy the color she brings into my life through her personality and onto her canvases. Harrison’s use of color is a focal point and conversation piece in every room where her paintings are. They bring a certain warmth and bright feeling to your room and to your life!
To give you an example of how her art transcends the boundaries of inspiring people, I will tell you a funny story. One weekend this spring I was on a little weekend getaway to the mountains with a group of friends for a bachelorette party. As I was flipping through pictures on my iphone to show a friend a picture, I scrolled past a picture of a group of people standing in front of one of Harrison’s paintings. My friend said “go back! go back! that is the most beautiful painting!! I love the colors!” It wasn’t the gaggle of girls that she cared about standing in front of the painting but the painting. She made me text her the picture and write down Harrison’s website immediately. It is only fair I share HB’s art to my friends out there who don’t know her name already!
Here is a little bit of info HB:
I am an abstract and impressionist artist, who believes there can never ever be enough color on a canvas. I enjoy using energetic colors and vibrant hues to inspire a work of art. Even the most simple painting can illuminate a space and tie an entire room together.
I grew up in Spartanburg, South Carolina and have always had a deep interest in the arts and interior design. Studying art history at the University of the South, I continued to seek inspiration from the work of both past and present artists.
I am constantly working on new ideas. Feel free to shoot me an email if you could use some color in your life!
